Shelters

Waterfront Rescue Mission: 380 West Herman Street, Pensacola, FL

As of 6/02/20, note new times and services:

  • Day Services for homeless men, women, and children- Showers, hand-washing stations, restrooms, access to on-site clinic, bike repair, mail service, outdoor shelter: 8-11 a.m. M-F, with lunch served at 11 a.m. M-F
  • Overnight shelter for men- limited capacity to allow safety and social distancing, first come/first served basis.  Shelter check in daily 4-6p.
  • Short-term Rescue programs have resumed for Veterans, the chronically homeless, and the working homeless.
  • $10 copay required for guests, with 3 nights free for first-time guests.
  • TB screen and physical required for overnight guests.  Health clinic is on-site M-F.
  • We ask health screening questions for guests staying overnight, and refer for health care providers if concerning symptoms exist.
  • Staff and guests observe recommended practices, including social distancing, personal hygiene, and cleaning protocols.
  • Addiction Recovery Program- suspended.
  • Thrift Stores are open 10a-6p Mon-Sat.

Alfred-Washburn Center doors are open. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday. 8:30 am - 1:00 pm.

Escambia County Area Transit: 🚌 Beginning Monday, April 6, ECAT, to support the county’s efforts to address the COVID-19 virus, will temporarily suspend fare collection for passengers of ECAT bus services. In addition, bus passengers will be instructed to enter and exit through the rear doors only and sit behind the accessibility-reserved seating area. Escambia County is expected to receive over $10.3 million dollars of the (CARES) Act federal funding for capital and operational expenses during COVID-19 for local transit services.
