Point In Time Count

The point in time count is the one day per year where, across the nation, we take a census of the homeless population. It’s the number of homeless people in our community, on ONE night near the end of January; a day chosen by each community.

2024 Point-in-Time Count Committee Leader and Committee Member Sign-Up Form

Count on me! We're kicking off our community's Point-in-Time Count (PIT), and we want you to join us in making the 2024 census the best in history for Pensacola, Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties CoC. This census survey is conducted annually in the last 10 days of January. Volunteers like you have the opportunity help coordinate this week-long event to meet with our unhoused neighbors, provide a little kindness through care bags, and help our community collect valuable information to bring awareness about their needs.

We can't spell success without Y.O.U.

Sign up to be a  (PIT) Committee Leader with this form.

  • Compare this year’s data with previous data, to improve at preventing and ending homelessness.

Who?

The Point in Time Count takes a census of all people that don’t have a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence:

  • Living in a place not meant for human habitation
  • Living in a shelter designated to provide temporary living arrangements
  • Living in an institution for 90 days or less AND, immediately before that, lived in a shelter or place not meant for human habitation
