Point In Time Count 2025
Breaking News!
PIT Count Moved to February 27th
Due to the unprecedented snowstorm, the Point in Time Count has been moved to February 27th, 2025.
Prior reports on the cancelation of the unsheltered PIT count are inaccurate, as HUD does not allow us to skip the 2025 unsheltered count. We have, however, been granted permission to reschedule the count for the end of February. Community assistance is greatly needed and appreciated.
The point in time count is the one day per year where, across the nation, we take a census of the homeless population. It’s the number of homeless people in our community, on ONE night near the end of January; a day chosen by each community.
Volunteers are needed!
Santa Rosa and Escambia County residents can help secure critical funding and inform public policy to help end homelessness by volunteering with the Point in Time Count.
The initiative is an annual, national event that provides a snapshot of those experiencing sheltered and unsheltered homelessness in the two counties.
Collected data is sent to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Florida Department of Children and Families to help secure millions in resources.
We can't spell success without Y.O.U.

- PIT counts are required to receive funding from HUD, the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
- Compare this year’s data with previous data, to improve at preventing and ending homelessness.
Who?

- Living in a place not meant for human habitation
- Living in a shelter designated to provide temporary living arrangements
